Where do you find party inspiration? Party blogs, friends, family, children or clients? I try to look places you would normally think of. My favorite places are the Hobby Lobby fabric swatch bin and the Target Dollar section. Both have great finds and I can always discover something to plan a party around. My next collection is based on some fabric I found at Hobby Lobby. Can you guess where the next party photo shoot theme will be? We’re planning it with Her Royal Heinous and it will be revealed soon…we can’t wait!
Amelia from Her Royal Heinous and I worked on a Budget Friendly Patriotic Themed Party. We started off with an idea of using a more muted, classic American theme. I designed the printables and we were off. Dollar store finds, previously purchased items and a lot of baking ourselves. This party can be used for Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day or a Welcome Home Party which is very close to our hearts as Amelia’s husband is in the Air Force and returned home from deployment in December. With a few minor changes this theme can even be used for a baseball party.
The collection is available in our shop and can be personalized with your party copy. Purchase it here today! We’ll also have a limited FREE collection available soon on our Scribd site.
In celebration of our 500th Facebook fan we asked her to suggest a free printable. Here is what she said….
It’s me!!!!! I’m the 500th fan!!!! I’m SO excited! This might be a crazy idea for a theme, but I’ve been thinking about it for a couple of weeks. I am a Kindergarten teacher for Katy ISD and I was recently laid off due to budget shortfalls. I’ve been wanting to throw a “Pink Slip Pajama Party” for my fellow teachers to celebrate the end of the year and boost our morale. Is that too crazy for a theme? The emphasis would be on positivity and looking towards the future and, of course, wearing our pajamas…. 😉
So here it is our Pink Slip Pajama Party collection available FREE! It includes small and large party circles, drink flags, tent cards, invitations, water bottle labels and pattern sheets. This collection is also available on our website and can be personalized with your own wording.
Thanks Patricia for a great idea, supporting Magnolia and we can’t wait to see pics of your fabulous party!

First I’d like to apologize in the delay in blog posts recently. It’s been very busy around here. I’ve been designing a lot of new paper products for the store, spring orders, teacher season coming up and most importantly getting ready for our new arrival, Jackson Bonham Welch!
In his honor I am hosting a special giveaway contest – guess his birthday and win a $50 gift certificate to the Magnolia shop. This gift certificate is good towards melamine plates and bowls, ceramics, stationery or custom invitations and other paper products – whatever you want! I’m even going to take it a step further and if you guess his correct weight and length you can win an additional $25 gift certificate!
Here is a little back story to help you make your predictions. My first child (a girl) was induced 2 weeks early and weighed 8 pounds 14 ounces and was 20 inches long. She was stubborn and too big and so I ended up having to have a c-section after 15 hours of labor. I do have a c-section scheduled for April 8 but most do not think I’ll make it….we’ll see!
So post your predictions on our Facebook wall from now until Jack is born. We’ll post his arrival on Facebook and the winner will be notified by email. There are no restrictions, enter as many times as you want. Good luck to all!
